Sumit Dhanda holds a PhD from Stanford and spent over a decade in senior roles on Wall Street before leaving it all behind to become Viraj’s primary caregiver and advocate. As a single father, he challenged the status quo to give his son a voice.

That journey — from navigating IEP meetings and school districts to researching communication methods and designing custom typing solutions — gave Sumit a unique perspective that combines analytical rigor with a parent’s intuition. He has since helped other families find their own path to unlocking their child’s potential.

Sumit and Viraj’s story has been covered by The Boston Globe, CBS Evening News, and NPR, and their co-authored memoir, Twice Exceptional, will be published by Atria Books in June 2027.
